The story of the Taniwha in Porirua Harbour

 Kia ora everyone,

The week we have been learning and writing about The story of the Taniwha in Porirua Harbour. This story is about a Taniwha called Awarua wanting to learn how to fly; and his friend Rereroa the albatross, helped Awarua to fly. And we had to rewrite this story in our own words. This piece took two school days, and it was kinda hard to think of how I would write and publish this story. We also had to publish this story in a creative way; and I just went for a simple look, and its what they call "Creative".

Here is the finished writing

Fathers Day letter

 Kia ora Readers,

(Again this was supposed to be posted in lock down) So since Fathers day is coming up, we had to do something for fathers day and we had tons of options to choose from, but this year I just went simple and did a letter. For planning we had to think of a father figure which is someone that is like a father to us; there are boxes around for us to write special things about our father figure. My father figure is my dad. So all the things that we wrote our ideas about our father figure we had to put all of those ideas into one special thing for our father figure. This took awhile, since I had to change a few things here and there but I finished it! I showed my mom and . I cried doing this letter apparently and I just don't know why. Anyways here is my letter.

My Classroom

 Welcome readers

First of all, apologies for not posting for awhile I have work finished but apparently I don't know what has gotten over me but I will hopefully try to post more this from now on; by the way this blog post was supposed to be posted awhile back. Anyways for Te Reo Maori we are learning about the classroom objects in Maori. And we had to do this activity where we had to label each one of the objects in the classroom; also we are learning colors in Maori. We had to do the activity on google drawings so it wasn't so hard but we took a while to get this finished. Here is the finished work.

Athlete Profile

 Hey readers,

This week for writing we are learning about Olympic Champions! This was kinda hard to do because I didn't really know much about him; but after I started researching about him I was on a good track and I finished it. And what I'm talking about is that we had to do an Olympic Athlete Profile; and is where you just add facts around the champions picture. The champion I did was Sam Dickson a rugby player of the New Zealand sevens men's team. He is also a brother in law to one of our teachers Mrs Dickson. So one of these facts are from him himself. Please tell comment on what other Olympic athletes are; I would really like to know. But besides that here is my work.

Match the sport

Hey readers

This week for reading we are learning about the Olympics and some players. And this activity is about the summer Olympics. Today we had to do a Match the sport which is a google drawing and there is pictures of different types of sports and you have to put them into sections " In Water", "On a Track or Field" and " In a Gym". What I found challenging is well; some of the events. I had questions; but atleast I got it finished. Tell me some other Olympic game facts that I can research about. Anyways here is my work.

Digital Pixel Art 3

 Good Afternoon readers,

Today we had to to a Digital pixel art and this is Number 3 of Digital Pixel Art. So let me explain what this Digital Pixel Art is; There is a blank square which is where the art will go, to fill it in there are question you need to answer to fill the picture. When you answer a question some colored squares will pop up in the square, and as you go on you will see the picture. This Digital Pixel Art and this one was a hard one the number were up to the hundreds and what I found easy in this was . . . I don't know. Like i said, the digital pixel art was hard so make sure to be ready for that.

Digital Pixel Art 2

 Good afternoon my readers,

Today for maths our teacher is doing maths testing so, in the mean time we have been doing maths related work and that work that we have been doing is this Digital Pixel Art. So basically there are math questions and if you answer the question some squares will be colored in and if you answer them all right then there will be a picture. Something that I thought that was easy was a all of the question since most of them we 5 times tables; and again I don't know what I found hard.

Pixel Digital Art

 Welcome my readers,

Today for math´s we have been doing this Pixel Digital Art. It is basically where you have to answer math questions and when you get it right, some little squares in color will appear; when you get it wrong nothing will appear and you have to figure the right answer so ye. For this pixel art it was multiplication 0-4. Something I found easy is answering the questions and something I found hard was I don really know? Make sure to comment if you have any questions!

Haiku Poem

 Kia Ora readers,

This week we have been learning about different kinds of poems and for the past 3 weeks we have been working on two different poems. One is a Dimonate poem which is shaped like a diamond, and a Haiku poem which is when you use syllables. if you don know what a syllables are there like parts of a word. Its hard to do but if you have a particular topic i might be easier, maybe but for me its. it took me a few minutes to finish it plus decorate but it turned out fine. My topic is about Anzac since we have been doing our subjects about Anzac.

If you don know what a syllables are there like parts of a word.

Example - Cho co late - Chocolate

Here is my Haiku Poem, you should try it!

Taste Buds

 Kia Ora readers,

This week we have been reading about Our Taste Buds. First we had to write what we knew about our senses on a Jamboard like touch, smell, hear, see and taste. Second we had to do a mix and match to see if like banana was Sweet or Sour and did you know that there are five main receptors?. They are Sweet, Sour, Bitter, Salty and Savory which means like meat .  Yesterday with Miss McNeil we have tasting different kinds of food of those five receptors. And these are the food that we tasted. For the coffee most of us thought it was soy sauce and we tasted it and the COFFEE!!. It was kinda funny to see everyone in my reading groups faces, they all looked bitter ha ha but not when i tasted it. But Bailey didn´t want to close his eyes so he just helped to give the food around.

The creation of the South Island

Kia Ora readers,

This week we have been reading about some Maori Legends and we had to rewrite them but we cannot change anything important in the story. We are learning how to rewrite Maori Legends so it might be not good but i tried. This one is The creation of the South Island. For me this took a while since there was some distractions but i finally finished it and here it is.

The creation of the South Island

Pouākai is a bird who eats people and his/her nest is at the summit of Mt Torless and they could see below is the flax, toitoi roupo, swamps and the was a forest on the mountain. The rivers below looked like ribbons twisting to the sea and there was a village nearby where Pouākai lived called Pa (village). As villagers went to get their food the villagers never came back and the people started to notice and began to worry the fact that villagers were missing so a brave man called Ruru to was a fast runner wanted to kill Pouākai but he didn´t knew who then and idea came up to his mind and had a plan but he needed some help but some sacrifices might be made but all he wants is the safety of the village.

He chose 40 of the bravest men and to kill Pouākai and told them the plan but they could only do it at night.night began to fall and Poakai was asleep so all of the men reached the mountain and started to build a cage that could fit 40 men and Pouākai. The sun began to rise and Ruru was out of the cage because he was the bait. Pouākai saw Ruru teasing him and started chasing him and Ruru leading him to the cage but he landed on top of the cage. Pouākai tried to get him but he got stuck and the man chopped his legs and his wings as Pouākai was shaking the cage to get out and killed some men, he shook the cage and more and more men got killed. Some were still alive, Ruru was one of them, and the men finished Pouākai with clubs made with wood and now the villagers won't be harmed while getting their food.

Reading

Welcome readers,

Today in reading, my reading group we have been reading about refugee´s ( people who lived in a country that´s in war ) and their life, and the activity we had to do is that we had to make a poster about is to encourage people and families to move to New Zealand on google drawings. It took me about 7 minutes to create. The hard part was when thinking what to write since its a poster that encourages people and I never really wrote something like that and post it on a blog not that I remember as a kid. and why not you try to encourage people to move to New Zealand ?

And here are the results.

But you need to turn one to complete the puzzle, if its hard then don worry you´ll get it in no time.
